Live has suffered its fair share of outages over the years, but it has much better security and infrastructure than PlayStation Network, as evidenced by the infamous outage where PSN was taken offline for over a month after a security breach. Sony has made strides since then in improving their network and while the two services are much more on par on PS4 and Xbox One, the Xbox had the clear advantage in the online space over the PS3.
The backwards compatibility battle between the Xbox and the PlayStation 3 was actually pretty fascinating in hindsight, although it was quite frustrating at the time. When the Xbox launched in , it did so without the ability to play original Xbox games natively. Instead, Microsoft used software emulation, an imperfect solution that was criticized for only featuring a selection of Xbox titles and not the entire library. In contrast, the PS3 launched the next year with full support for both PS1 and PS2 games, which was admittedly a pretty awesome feature.
Before long though, Sony realized that their console was too damn expensive and to help cut costs, they removed components that allowed for PS2 playback, which meant that launch PS3s became a pretty hot commodity. As of March , the PS3 had moved Where Microsoft was complacent and coasting on their Halo and Gears of War series while aggressively pursuing the family market with Kinect, Sony continued to pump out ambitious exclusives like The Last of Us , Infamous , and Uncharted.
So what does this all mean? Why does Xbox vs PS3 still matter? The actual decisive numbers of which console sold more and when is irrelevant when considering that the pop cultural narrative is false. Last, but not least, is the PS Vita, Sony's latest and greatest hand-held gaming device. The world may be moving toward mobile, but the PS Vita is a really impressive gaming machine that can connect directly to your PS3.
If you want hand-held games, Microsoft still has some serious catching up to do. If you go with a Vita, you'll be better off pairing it with a PS3 than an Xbox What do you think?
Outside of a handful of good Xbox exclusives, is there anything else that makes that console better than Sony's PS3? Did I miss any compelling reasons to buy the PS3 over the Xbox ? Final thought: Better still, build yourself a gaming PC. Sure, not every title will make it to PC, but you'll have a much wider array of indie titles to choose from, as well as mods and customizations that make consoles pale in comparison. Still better: buy all three because, you know, you're made out of money, right?

The PS3 has a 7-core Cell processor 3. At the same time, Xbox uses a lower-core processor called Xenon. It operates at the same speed as that of the PS3, 3. In short, as the Sony console has a greater number of cores, this allows your video card to process graphics with greater fluidity and better performance.
Although there were criticisms regarding the security of its users' data. In turn, Xbox has a service called Xbox Live. Although the PS3 has many aspects to improve, such as the presentation of its dashboard or the security of its users' data, the truth is that regarding the essential features it offers a more attractive proposal than Microsoft.
In the fight Xbox Vs PS3, it is not only cheaper than its rival, but also has a more powerful processor and greater ease to play games with demanding graphics. We think the logical choice would be to go for the PS3.
