Tilbury House focuses on nonfiction picture books that appeal to children ages 5 — 10 and their parents. Tradewind is a Canadian company that publishes books for children and young adults. Tradewind does not accept novels by non-Canadian authors unless they are chapter books to be illustrated. Versify is looking for "books that edify, electrify, and exemplify the wonders and woes of childhood.

Their books are published and sold in simultaneous English and Simplified Chinese editions. Yeehoo is a boutique press publishing 10 to 15 books per year. They are looking for fictional and non-fiction picture books, both text-only and author-illustrator projects, aimed at ages Cedar Fort is active in selling foreign language rights, and they attend the Frankfurt Book Fair every year to present their frontlist titles internationally.

Submissions : Cedar Fort accepts all manuscript submissions through Submittable. Cedar Fort also offers various paid "services" for editing, cover design, etc. This essentially means that the publisher is operating as a self-publishing platform. I find this practice highly questionable in a publisher that brands itself as "traditional. Charlesbridge Teen is a new imprint of Charlesbridge, a well known Watertown, Mass-based publisher of children's books.

Charlesbridge books are distributed by Penguin Random House. They are actively seeking debut authors. Submissions may be sent via email to YAsubs charlesbridge.

Please send a detailed plot synopsis, a chapter outline, and three chapters of text. They don't believe in censorship, but they do want their readers to be informed. Submissions : They are seeking YA young adult or NA new adult novels that are between 50, and , words. While they accept stand-alone books, their ideal submission would be the first two books in a series or a novel with a novella that is a prequel to the novel.

Genres that they are specifically seeking include the following: horror, mystery, witches, fortune teller, psychic, magician, historical, escapism. When you submit to Clean Teen Publishing, your title may also be considered for one of their other imprints. This includes their new digital-first imprint— CTP Pulse. Seeking : Contemporary YA. Jo Fletcher Books UK , part of the Quercus family, publishes science fiction, fantasy and horror, including all subgenres. Previously self-published books are accepted, as long as the author is willing to let all rights revert to JF on signing a contract. See their guidelines here. They publish trade fiction and select nonfiction books in the national and international market.

Right now they are seeking middle grade and young adult titles in science fiction and fantasy with an epic and visual scope; thrillers with strong, carefully crafted characters and a unique voice; and unconventional love stories. Polis Books is an independent publishing company actively seeking new and established authors.

They are currently acquiring titles in a wide variety of genres. While Polis primarily publishes books for adults, they also publish young adult novels. Submissions : Novel-length submissions should be a minimum of 60, words.

They only respond if interested. Quirk Books is a Philadelphia-based company that publishes just 25 books per year. Their titles are distributed through Random House. Poetry is absolutely not accepted or considered. Most authors receive a response in about weeks. This is a print on demand publisher, however, so it may not be a first-choice publishing option for some writers.

Before sending in your manuscript, make sure it meets the expectations of the publisher so it will be considered. If you want to self-publish there are companies who have fees for designing a cover, fees for editing, fees for illustration, and fees for ISBN numbers, fees for formatting. However, you can pay others to do that.

If you can format your book yourself, you only pay for the cost of printing your book and for the ISBN Print on demand. I guess what I am trying to tell you is shop around.

Make sure the deal is what you really want. Some publishers change midstream Try to use one that has been in good standing for awhile. Ask the better business bureau about them.

I submit as widely as possible — avoiding the traps. I know nothing about Beacon. I was published very quickly by Cholla Needles. It was a mistake.. I think you should accept the fact that getting published by a genuine publisher takes time — around three months or more to either get accepted or rejected.
